A Prayer for
The Saint John’s Bible

Almighty God,
who has given us in the Holy Scriptures
a history of Thy ways, a guide to Thy salvation,
an expression of Thy beauty and a lively oracle of Thy purpose,
let Thy blessing rest upon the project of The Saint John's Bible
and all who are connected with it:
upon Fr. Abbot, Br. Dietrich, Fr. Eric, Fr. Michael,
and the whole Benedictine community at Saint John's;
upon Donald, the Scribe, and Mabel, his wife,
and upon all who are in anyway connected with it.
Purify our motives, grant us skill and stamina,
open our hearts in cheerful generosity
that this great undertaking,
begun, continued and ended in Thee
may be to Thy glory.
AMEN
