Saint John's Bible Receives Major Media Attention

The historic completion of The Saint John's Bible has brought a new surge of interest in the Bible from many directions. Its completion, along with some related events, have led to coverage by many media sources, some quite prominent.

The Saint John's Bible was featured on NBC’s Today show on Wednesday, October 19. Artistic director Donald Jackson appeared with several pages of the Bible, discussing his work with Today show host Matt Lauer. Jackson and Lauer looked over pages of the Bible together as Jackson explained to Lauer his creative process and the principles behind the project. Lauer ended the segment by praising The Saint John's Bible, saying "It's spectacular. It's a masterpiece."

Additional coverage of The Saint John's Bible has also appeared in many newspapers and websites in recent weeks. Much of it stemmed from a significant Associated Press article that opened with the fitting statement, "It was a task of biblical proportions." That article was picked up by many major media outlets, including The Chicago Sun-Times and The Washington Post.

Besides the AP article, the Bible was also featured in original articles by USA Today,, and the popular online news source, The Huffington Post. The latter article includes an excellent collection of images from the Bible.

Still more coverage has come as a result of other recent Bible-related events:

     •   When the Austin Public Library received the generous donation of a Heritage Edition, the Austin Daily Herald bragged that the donation "puts Austin on the map" and praised The Saint John's Bible as "one of the most magnificent presentations of the Bible in the world."
     •   As an exhibition appeared at the New Mexico History Museum in downtown Santa Fe, the Santa Fe New Mexican expressed awe at "the modern marvel" on display.
     •   As an exhibition opened at Colorado College, the Colorado Springs Independent called the Bible "exquisite."
