News & Events>News Archive> The Saint John’s Bible to be Presented to The Vatican FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Saint John’s Bible to be Presented to The Vatican2/4/2004 COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. -- Abbot John Klassen, OSB, and Saint John’s University President Br. Dietrich Reinhart, OSB, will be presenting a limited edition facsimile of a volume of The Saint John’s Bible to the Vatican in Rome on May 26. Joining Klassen and Reinhart will be Donald Jackson, artistic director of the Bible project. The public is invited to join the trip, which will take place May 21-29. The trip is being coordinated through the Benedictine Center for Lifelong Learning (BCLL). Tours in the "Eternal City" will include sightseeing stops at the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon and Catacombs and will also include excursions to the historic sites of Subiaco, Umbria and Assisi. The cost of the land package is $2,495 based on double occupancy. The supplement for exclusive occupancy of a double room by one person is $750. A $500 deposit per person is required to hold reservations, with the remaining amount due Feb. 20. Included in the land package is eight nights accommodation at the Mediterraneo Hotel in Rome, services of Tour Manager and local guides throughout the trip.
